NEW SPOT: COOK & BOOK BRUSSELS

January 16, 2011

3 reasons to go here:

  1. If you love books – this is one of the best designed book stores in the world.
  2. If you love the old Fiat 500 –  just like Merci in Paris.
  3. If you like to combine a good book and food.

TRIED & TESTED: KUNSTHAL KOOKT ROTTERDAM

September 10, 2010

Most striking feature:

This pig. I love an entrecote sometimes, so I’m not a vegetarian, but this sight attracked a lot of visitors. Only a couple of them tried to eat it: it tasted delicious (so I heard). There are a lot of little market places where you van taste small food (I tried the boiled and baked watermelon with goat cheese from restaurant de Eendracht, mmm) from meat to ice-cream. It attracks a crowd who loves food – but also the way it is produced. Price: 14 euro. Till sunday.

TRIED & TESTED: FROZZ AMSTERDAM

June 25, 2010

Most striking feature:

The yoghurt icecream. We know yoghurt bars are getting hotter – or actually colder – by the minute. Think: Yoli in Berlin and Snog in London. Amsterdam joins the cold trend with Frozz. Situated in fashion store Spoiled in the area called ‘de 9 straatjes’ you can order a full cup of icecream – ánd strawberries, ánd chocolate, ánd banana – for only 3,50 euro. The postcards and buttons are lovely extra’s.
