LIKE TO HAVE: GLASSES at MYKITA BERLIN

September 27, 2010

I love glasses. It helps that I need them because otherwise I don’t see anything. I just received the press files of Mykita. A German firm made famous this summer because the Sex and the City ladies wore them in their latest movie. I like this Isabella frame. Perfect for the Autumn sun. But, lovers of design, we all know that specialist eyewear shops don’t look slick and lovely at all. Mykita is the exception. Check their shops in Berlin, Vienna, Paris, Zurich and Tokyo and you know what I mean. The one pictured is their Berlin shop.

LIKE TO HAVE: BODYLOTION Aesop

July 24, 2010

When I stayed in le Studio 22 in Paris the bathroom was filled with Aesop goodies. I was afraid to use it, because I didn’t want to. It looks so stunning that you only want to keep it in your bathroom on a special shelf. That’s exactly what the owners think based on the beautiful Aesop stores around the world. In september there is a new one opening in Paris, but you can find Aesop stores in London, Zurich, Tokyo, Basel, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong and ofcourse in Australia (the home of Aesop).

This bodylotion is perfect as an after shower treatment for your skin. Price: 75 euro.

LIKE TO HAVE: STATIONARY at MAKING THINGS

July 14, 2010

Did you know I’m addicted to diaries? I love the feeling of a new era of putting your pen on the paper for the first time and I love to put dates in it. Silly right? At the concept store Making Things in Zurich they sell this diary by Millimeter Milligram (a paradise for diary and notebook fans like myself) from Korea. But they also sell bags of Baggu from California and lovely jewelry by HopHopHop from Paris.

NEW SPOT: Z AM PARK ZURICH

June 23, 2010

3 reasons to dine here:

  1. Eco-fabulous: the bar and bench are all made out of the former oak parquet. Recycle is their second name.
  2. Eco-fabulous 2: the ingredients in the kitchen are all coming from nearby markets, not from faraway countries.
  3. Funny fact: the bistro chairs are designed by a design office, once in a couple of months the are going up for auction. So you can actually buy them.
