3 reasons to go there:

  1. This hotel alone is the reason to book a citytrip Madrid.
  2. If you want to be right on the Gran Via (nearby Clarita).
  3. If you’re looking for a reasonable priced accomodation.

See my report of Praktik Hotel Ramblas in Barcelona.

I fell in love with All Saints when I was in London a couple of years ago. I visited their flagshipstore in Spitalfields and loved the soft fabric and the twisted details. For a moment I thought of Rick Owens – but that’s impossible for that prices. It’s a bit rough – not for the girly, girly type of woman. On this wednesdaynight I did some online shopping and these are my favorites:

Clockwise, from left to right:

1. Jumper (cool with a leather legging): 295 euro
2. Scarf: 47 euro
3. Top: 55 euro
4. Denim short: 59 euro
5. The most beautiful purse ever: 59 euro
6. Leather skinny jeans: 177 euro

If you’re visiting Madrid or Barcelona make sure you stop at Vincon. Vincon is a Spanish department store with all things design. You can buy the best gifts, but they also sell expensive furniture. I like their calendars and their funny gadgets like this Iphone Notebook (6 euro). I’ve been in both stores, but this photo is taken in Madrid.

3 reasons to eat here:

  1. Grupo Tragaluz, the group where Red Tomate belongs to, makes a lot of cool restaurants (just like Bar Lobo in Barcelona) so this one is also high on the wish list.
  2. Every dish is 8 euro – order as much as you like and share with your partner.
  3. It’s open everyday from 8.30 in the morning till 12 in the night.

Most striking feature:

The newsletter. Huh? Yes, I got to stay here because I subscribed myself to their newsletter and by that I’ve won a weekend at Room Mate Oscar. They give away one a month, so please subscribe if you’re in for a fun weekend Madrid. The hotel is located at a superb location if you want to go shopping – the Gran Via and the Calle de Fuencarral are all 5 minutes away. The outlook of the hotel is modern with a futuristic lobby. The room was basic, but with nice details like this lamps behind a mirror. During the day you can use it as a mirror, when you turn on the lamps you will see the lamps.

Rate from 70 euro a night. Check out:

Most striking feature:

If you’re an anorexic, don’t go to Clarita. The lunch contents of three courses. I had a salad as a starter, something with chicken and potatoes (which was delicious) as the main dish and an icecream with tea as dessert. My stomach had a hard time to digest everything while shopping. But hey, we’re in Spain. The lunches are a big thing here and dinner doesn’t take place until 22/23 o’clock in the evening. Oh and do you know what me and my sister paid? 25 euro. Including wine.
