Why you should go to Bird when you’re in New York? Well this store is voted Best Fashion Store in New York several times. The former buyer from Barneys decided to open her own boutique in 1999 in Brooklyn. Now fashionista’s gladly leave their Manhattan island to visit that store (or one of the other two stores) in Brooklyn. The collection is fabulous. She sells items from A.P.C., Acne and Alexander Wang among others.

I did some online window shopping and found my favorites:

Leather espadrilles from 3.1 Phillip Lim: 192 euro
Long skirt from Madewell: 110 euro
Striped shirt from Edith A Miller: 45 euro

Most striking feature:

The store is hosted in an industrial building with urban bikes at the entrance, a cinema downstairs and an art gallery next door. I’m a sucker for design lamps and they are present. And I’m a sucker for stripes which are also present in a lot of their shirts, dresses and vests. Maybe this store is even more something for men who like shopping. And they also sell some homeware.

Green striped tee for men: 45 euro
Striped jumper for women: 103 euro
Keyring: 11 euro

Usually I write about clothes for women. That has a simple reason: I’m a woman and if I like something it gets a place on my site. But what about the men who read Petite Passport? That’s why I come up with this shirt for men. Why do I like it? Because it is simple yet funny (because the funny wooden button in the middle). It’s from New York fashion label ‘Slow and Steady wins the race’ and you can buy it for 65 euro (sale price) at Hunting and Collecting. A very, very cool store in Brussels. They also sell stuff for women, kids and home in a simple, white interior. Go and see!

Check out: (they also have a webshop).
