Most striking feature:

The website and store got an extreme makeover. For that they’ve contracted …,staat¬†creative agency to design the quotes you see in the store, on their website and on their clothes. I really like the outlook and happily they treated me with the black bag (pictured above) which states: ‘to hell with my bank account’. Love it! The on- and offline stores are absolutely worth a visit. They sell beautiful brands like American Vintage, Gestuz, Sessun and Designers Remix (to name a few). I did some online shopping and the items on top of this page are my favorite.

Dress, American Vintage, 69,95 euro
Shopper,, 17,50 euro
Jacket, Muubaa, 349,95 euro

Marlies Dekkers invited me on the trip to Lapland. Apart from all the great and fun activities we did, the fall 2011 Fashion Show was planned on saturday evening.¬†The bus took us to a cottage in the middle of a forest. Imagine this: candle light dinner, reindeer skin, everyone dressed up by the dresscode ‘roaring twenties’, Mathilde Santing singing. Romantism all over the place. Not quite a coincidence because the new collection of Marlies Dekkers told us her love story. She is deeply in love and while her man wrote her a song (which Mathilde Santing sang) she dedicated this collection to him.

After this we learned that the brand Marlies Dekkers is, from now on, divided into two brands: the haute couture line marlies | dekkers and the younger, cool brand called Undressed. To speak in images: Lady Gaga would go for option one (a bit more extravagant), I will go for the second one (a bit more minimalistic). I love the new typography. And if Marlies Dekkers uses my body as a canvas with her designs I will be sure to feel like a foxy, fashionable lady. Even underneath my clothes.

Did you know that Marlies Dekkers has a webshop? Check it out:

At first this shop was nestled in Leiden, now they moved to Alkmaar. Not a place that I visit often, but they have a webshop. Everything in their store is made with love for the environment. A lot of recycled products but nicely done. Just like this pillow from old Post sacks in the Netherlands. You can buy one for 45 euro.

One of my favorite websites is Why? Because I love museumshops. Even if an exhibition isn’t quite what you’ve expected, the museumshop can definitely make you feel better. With stationary, books, postcards or other fun stuff. Culturelabel collects all of London’s best museumshop-items on their webshop. So even if you don’t go to London you can still scroll down to the best pieces. Like this Entertain Me TV Necklace from the Saatchi Gallery (price: 20 euro).
