LIKE TO HAVE: CLOTHES FROM ALAND SEOUL

May 9, 2011

I love discovering chains we don’t have in the Netherlands. Like Aland: a store with several outlets in Seoul. They collect nice things from all over the world to create a fantastic collection. I did some online window shopping and these are my favorites:

Dress: 33 euro
Bag from Baggu: 37 euro
Espadrilles: 31 euro

AMSTERDAM GUIDE ON I WANNA GO THERE

February 21, 2011

I Wanna Go There is a great travel site. Not everything is design, but it really let’s his users get the most out of it by publishing pictures, writing reports about spots and places they’ve visited and there’s an option to make your wish list. I love making wish lists of where to go next. Anyway: I wrote an Amsterdam Guide for their site. Complete with a Google maps walking tour. If you like my site and the spots I describe, it’s worth downloading. No Anne Frank, no Kalverstraat kitsch and no canal cruises. But: Cafe George, Mazzo and Lock, Stock & Barrel (and more) in it.

Download it here.

LIKE TO HAVE: STUFF at GINATRICOT

November 3, 2010

In times where ‘Broke is the new Rich’ we, fashionista’s who love to travel, need to be creative. Shop at budget stores around the world for example. Nobody who notices it because it’s an original piece in your country. In London we go to Primark and Topshop, in Madrid to Stradivarius and Blanco and in the northern countries we go to Ginatricot. A high street chain who loves to get inspired by Malene Birger and Day. I bought a sailers jacket for 70 euro last year (see image at my About page) and still get compliments. So a trip to Copenhagen, Stockholm or Oslo isn’t complete with a visit to Ginatricot.

My shoppinglist:

Beige pull: 21 euro
Striped sjawl: 13 euro
Gold laptop sleeve: 21 euro
Jacket: 40 euro
Socks with hearts: 4 euro

Total: 99 euro.
