TRIED & TESTED: A.PUUR.A GHENT

February 13, 2011

Most striking feature:

Although I don’t have kids I can get all ‘oh’ and ‘ah’ about some kids apparel. Like these Bobo Choses baby star pants. But I also spotted some cool lamps, notebooks, cards, books and other great things to buy for yourself or a friend. And I adored their creative window.

LIKE TO HAVE: IPHONE NOTEBOOK at VINCON

September 26, 2010

If you’re visiting Madrid or Barcelona make sure you stop at Vincon. Vincon is a Spanish department store with all things design. You can buy the best gifts, but they also sell expensive furniture. I like their calendars and their funny gadgets like this Iphone Notebook (6 euro). I’ve been in both stores, but this photo is taken in Madrid.

LIKE TO HAVE: LOVE NOTE at ALDER & CO

September 13, 2010

Don’t you love a handwritten note from your loved one?
Start the process by writing them yourself. Ofcourse you can use simple post-its, but how about these lovely ‘love notes’ from Tokketok? You can buy them at the newly opened shop Alder & Co in Portland. They collect all things pretty from America – and sometimes from Europe and Japan.

Price: 4 euro. Check out: www.alderandcoshop.com

LIKE TO HAVE: STATIONARY of GREEN DEPOT NY

September 10, 2010

Green Depot is a department store. It sells everything: from baby clothing to light bulbs. But everything in here is ‘green’. Some stuff is locally produced, other stuff is recycled and another product is an energy saver. If you want to go green, it’s definitely worth the check out. Because everything is presented in an ultra chic way. I like this notebook which is made entirely from discarded paper. From 10 dollar (8 euro).

NEWSFLASH: MARC JACOBS INTO STATIONARY

September 5, 2010

Marc Jacobs is a busy bee: working for his own company and for Louis Vuitton. Designing fashion items to die for. But he’s into fun items as well: a couple of years ago he introduced the Marc Jacobs condom with a note that says ‘remember safety first’. This year he’s into stationary and, as a big fan of notebooks and diaries, I’m really curious about the products. Maybe they will sell it at some exclusive Marc Jacobs stores, but: his own BookMarc store in New York is the best place to catch his products. Located on 400 Bleecker Street.

LIKE TO HAVE: ART from ROOM6 VANCOUVER

August 21, 2010

If you wake up with a grumpy mood just look up to this saying and you’ll definitely smile. I do. This is one of the pieces of art Room6 sells. But they sell more: stationary, books, children’s toys, home decor and gifts. And the shop owner has a lot of humour (just look at the notes on their front door). Piece of art from Shelli Dorf: 22 euro.
