LIKE TO HAVE: LONDON SOLE

March 25, 2011

I’m not really into high heels. I’m only 1.67 meter so I have to, sometimes. But deep down inside I want to have a collection of London Sole. Just like Kate Moss. I have one pair – but they are almost at the end of their existence – so I need another pair. And my heart beats faster for this new collection! The one with the red accent: love it! Price? 155 euro.

TRIED & TESTED: COX COOKIES & CAKE LONDON

March 13, 2011

Most striking feature:

Cupcake heaven. I once tasted the best cupcake in NY at Magnolia Bakery, and how hard they try in the Netherlands, the glace is never thick enough. Patrick Cox, the shoe designer, opened Cox, Cookies & Cake last year. And here you will find thick glaced cupcakes. I tried the Cola Cake: a mix of chocolate and cola. With it comes popping candy. You have to start with that before enjoying the sweetness of the cupcake. I also spotted these fashion cakes. This is a not to be missed spot in Soho.

LIKE TO HAVE: MUMU SHOES AMSTERDAM

February 2, 2011

Everyone who loves to wear high heels, need to check out the Mumu Shoes store in Amsterdam. If Victoria Beckham lived in Amsterdam she would definitely shop here. This red one is my favorite from their winter 2011 collection.

TRIED & TESTED: KYMYKA MAASTRICHT

November 13, 2010

Most striking feature:

Well, isn’t it obvious? Shoes. The most beautiful pairs of high heels, boots and sneakers are presented here. And in a completely different way we’ve ever seen. They’re standing on metal poles (with magnets in them to keep the shoes in place) – as if they are gliding in the air. The sell extraordinary brands like Christian Louboutin, D&G and Stella McCartney. I’ve spotted brown boots with a extremely high heel from Yves Saint Laurent: I’m not surprised if I see Victoria Beckham on them. (Oh, sometimes they open an outlet at the other side of the street).

NEW SPOT: SHOES OR NO SHOES KRUISHOUTEM

September 4, 2010

3 reasons to go to this museum:

  1. If you’re proud telling everyone how much you love shoes and never been to this museum you’re not counting as a real shoe-addict.
  2. If you love shoes: every piece of designer or ethnic item is exposed here.
  3. If you love architecture because the building is a grey, concrete beauty.

The shoes above are named the Lego boots and it’s a design of Steve Madden.
