TRIED & TESTED: ROSA & RITA AMSTERDAM

April 23, 2011

Most striking feature:

Pizza and steak. Their menu is all about those two dishes. I tried the Pizza with mozzarella and basil. Just like my sister who compared it with a pizza we tasted in Italy. So it is as if you’re in Italy and that’s a good sign. I’m not a food connaisseur but if Johannes van Dam (the restaurant reviewer from the Netherlands) gives this place a 9, well: then it’s good. The interior is simple but fantastic. It’s located in an old warehouse and you see still see the old beams when you look up. Because it was sunny yesterday we sat outside their terrace with picknick tables. Oh, and it’s really affordable as well (I tried the most expensive pizza which costs 11 euro).

3 reasons to go there:

  3. If you like their massive Citroen DS print on the wall.

TRIED & TESTED: PIZZA EAST LONDON

March 9, 2011

Most striking feature:

The liveliness: this place is full of energy and very busy. It’s a good place to go if you’re with a group of friends. Not for a romantic date because not all of the tables are seperated. You will find mainly long wooden tables where you sit next to other people. And because it’s fully packed (on the Thursday night we visited) it’s sometimes hard to understand eachother. The location in an old Tea Building is great, the pizza’s taste delicious, water comes in a simple bottle with the letter S on it and wine comes in sweet little carafes. Oh, and it’s not expensive at all.

TRIED & TESTED: KU DE TA BALI

June 10, 2010

Most striking feature:

Okay, Ku De Ta is widely known and I think that if you go in july and august that it’s full with tourists. I visited in the afternoon and found it a perfect place to unwind. Relaxing music, good food (check this delightful pizza) and the newly opened spa. They gave massages for 15 euro. Try to find a loungebed and order a Mojito Mocktail – a mojito without the alcohol but with pieces of apple. Nice! It’s not the cheapest place in Bali (pizza 12 euro, mocktail 6 euro).
