I’M GOING TO BERLIN

May 6, 2011

This weekend I’m in Berlin making a report for Dutch magazine Marie Claire. I will be staying at the new The Weinmeister hotel in Mitte – but ofcourse I will be discovering new areas of the city as well. I’m so curious about the hotel because they work with iPad’s as well. If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook I will keep you updated.

Are you travelling to Berlin sooner than October (when the article is published) or living in another country and want my recommendations? Sent me an e-mail at petitepassport@hotmail.com

TRIED & TESTED: AZULIK MEXICO

April 27, 2011

Most striking feature:

This is a true honeymoon resort. You won’t find much on the resort except for a couple of villas. Made out of wood. A simple terrace. An outside tub made of wood. A stunning view over the ocean. And a relaxing loungebed/hammock on the terrace. It’s just you and your lover. And that’s how we like it!

From 180 euro per night. Check out: www.azulik.com

SO HAPPY WITH MY NEW PP CARDS

April 12, 2011

It took a while of telling people ‘no sorry I don’t have a business card yet’ but now I’m officialy in the race of promoting myself and my website with a business card. Can’t wait to give them away! There’s also the possibilty to write down my tips for your next trip and to let hotspots know how much I liked their place. The design is done by the lovely Lennebelle from Rotterdam. Check her website – not only for graphic design, but also for fantastic jewelry.

I’M TRAVELLING TO PORTLAND

March 17, 2011

When this post is published I’m in an airplane to Portland, Oregon. I will be there for 5 days to make a report of it for Dutch magazine Marie Claire. It will be published in June – so my recommendations for Portland follow after the June issue hit the stores. But I can tell you one thing: I will be staying at the Ace Hotel in Portland. I’m so thrilled because a stay at a Ace Hotel stands for ultimate hotspot behaviour – so now I definitely join the group of cool travellers 😉

TRIED & TESTED: THE FOLLY BAR LONDON

March 16, 2011

Most striking feature:

The toilets. The most beautiful toilets I’ve ever seen in my life (first two photos). This is heaven. With handsoap and handcream at the sinks, wooden doors, a tree in it, some cool design chairs. If you take a look in the mirror the lights are just good enough (so that you’re the pretty version of yourself, not the striplight version). Upstairs it’s fantastic as well. You have several seating areas. For a simple drink, something to eat and a late night drink. At night downstairs is the place to order a cocktail. Must see!

TRIED & TESTED: AESOP LONDON

March 16, 2011

Most striking feature:

The outside handcream and handsoap. If you’re strolling through Shoreditch, this is the place to get your hands fresh and fruity again. Inside you will find the beautiful products of Aesop.

TRIED & TESTED: ALBION CAFE LONDON

March 15, 2011

Most striking feature:

A fresh cafe next to the Boundary hotel in the middle of Shoreditch. A good place to have breakfast or lunch before or after a shopping spree. There’s a little store next to it where you can buy all kind of delicatessen. I’ve ordered an omelett with mushrooms. Very simple. There’s also a very simple water can. Outside there’s a terrace (see picture taken in the evening).

ULTIMATE LONDON SOUVENIR

March 15, 2011

With the Royal Wedding coming up, there’s a huge marketing business opening up. Buying a mug with William and Kate on it is something the typical tourist will buy. What I like is this plate from KK Outlet. Unfortunately KK Outlet was closed when we arrived there. But maybe you can score this plate? Price: 20 pounds
