This weekend I’m in Berlin making a report for Dutch magazine Marie Claire. I will be staying at the new The Weinmeister hotel in Mitte – but ofcourse I will be discovering new areas of the city as well. I’m so curious about the hotel because they work with iPad’s as well. If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook I will keep you updated.

Are you travelling to Berlin sooner than October (when the article is published) or living in another country and want my recommendations? Sent me an e-mail at

Most striking feature:

In this small shop underneath the dreamworld of every journalist and photographer – the offices of Vogue and Conde Nast Traveller – they sell every Conde Nast magazine, in every language. Among it is the Dutch Glamour. The shop has opened his doors last week. And it’s nearby the Apple Store on Regent’s Street.

Most striking feature:

A relaxing cafe where you get served with a smile. A rare thing in restaurants. The cafe is located nearby all the cool shops in the city. It has a simplistic outlook. Simple chairs, funny icons on the huge windows and a big table full of newspapers and magazines. I tried the leek soup with bread and an apple (funny detail). My friend was thrilled about the chocolate she got with her mint tea. A good spot for a lunch.

I love magazines. Everytime I pass the magazines at my supermarket (that’s a daily business) I want to buy one. Even when there’s a pile of magazines waiting for me in the living room everytime I get home. That said: the Graphic Design Museum in Breda exhibits magazines throughout the years to get an image of women. Good idea. And I love to visit it. Till april 1 2011.

But this wasn’t just another magazine for me. I was working for LIV’: a real dreamjob. We could only make 6 numbers, but due to a lack of profit, we had to stop immediately. This is the cover of our latest number. You can buy it in The Netherlands: so enjoy it while you can. It’s all about travel, hotspots and celebs.

Good place to go if you’re on your own. There is a huge selection of good (inter)national magazines and newspapers. You see a lot of people with their laptops joining the wifi-network of Revista. And what do you order? A good cup of coffee or tea of course.
