TO SEE: DESIGNERSMAKERS LONDON

May 5, 2011

I visited London in March and from the beginning of April there’s a fantastic weekly market happening just 15 minutes walking from the hotel I was staying. And for me it’s a reason to book another ticket. Look at what they are selling: stuff young designers make and you instantly want to have for yourself. It’s a perfect place to get presents as well. Every Saturday till September 24th.

LIKE TO HAVE: THE TOTE BAG

April 28, 2011

I really like Tote Bags. I bought one of Alphabet Bags in London last March and get one at We Like Fashion in April. If you want to start a collection you have a lot of choice. Take a look inside the Tote Bag Book and you’ll find all kind of bags you like to have. Almost all of them carry a message like ‘buy me a drink’. And they are decorated beautifully. Price: 23 euro.

3 reasons to go there:

  2. If you’re in Chiswick – an upcoming area in London with High Road House and Eco Age.
  3. If you’re looking for the USA in London (the owners are from New York).

LIKE TO HAVE: MINIBAR FOR THE MIND

April 6, 2011

I love a well stocked mini bar – especially with funny items in it. At the Ace Hotel in Portland I felt like home when they offered me Stroopwafels – a Dutch delight. The Morgans Hotel Group teams up with the School of Life and if you’re staying in one of their hotels you get this Minibar for the Mind set. In it you’ll find Conversation Starters (speaks for itself), Collective Thoughts (inspiring thoughts written down by members of the School of Life), Dreams & Fears Notebook and a set of really great pencils. I love it! Oh, you can also buy the set via their website for 40 euro.

TRIED & TESTED: AESOP LONDON

March 16, 2011

Most striking feature:

The outside handcream and handsoap. If you’re strolling through Shoreditch, this is the place to get your hands fresh and fruity again. Inside you will find the beautiful products of Aesop.

TRIED & TESTED: BARBICAN FOOD HALL LONDON

March 14, 2011

Most striking feature:

The Barbican is famous for it’s great exhibitions, but there’s more. The Food Hall for example. This is a great venue for a quick lunch or something to drink. You will find Kettle chips next to a chocolate croissant. It’s also kids friendly. You will find some games for them in the back of the restaurant. In summer they open their terrace.

Sometimes you don’t buy something and you have regrets afterwards. That’s the case with this bag from Urban Outfitters. I like the color so much. What do you think? Do I need to buy it online? Price: 89 euro.
