So you’re going to London with your mum, sister or friends? Be sure to book a table at the Berkeley for their worldfamous Pret-a-Portea. This is an extremely delicious high tea with a fashionable twist. Just like the most famous couture houses who change their collection every 6 months, so does The Berkeley with their collection cookies. Designed by fashion designers like Jimmy Choo, Alexander McQueen and Christian Louboutin. Even the Chanel clog is turned into a cookie. And the plates are designed by Paul Smith. Because they Pret-a-Portea turns 5 this winter, you will get the most memorable creations called ‘Greatest Hits’ with cookies from Zac Posen, Fendi, Christian Louboutin.

Most striking feature:

The perfect lunch-spot. Because their menu is full of delicious dishes. From chocolate cake till quiches. The location is perfect. Next to a parking lot and the fashionable Prinsenstraat is nearby. De Bakkerswinkel is a concept in the Netherlands. Piet Hein Eek takes care of the lovely interiors. My favorite is the one in Utrecht, because you sit in the warm and romantic basement. But it’s always busy overthere. The one in Amsterdam, on the Westergas, has a good terrace. In Rotterdam we’re still waiting for a Bakkerwinkel, but new is Kantine Katendrecht. An initiative by de Bakkerwinkel. I’ll keep you posted.

Last week I received this beautiful designed invitation for a new concept at bar/restaurant/bistro and hotspot extraordinaire Bo Cinq in Amsterdam. Every 3rd saturday of the month Monsieur Morris will host a Martini Manicure. After shopping relief like you never felt before: you just sit down in the beautiful surroundings of Bo Cinq, they will pour a Martini for you and while you’re waiting your nails get a fancy treatment (provided by Sense). Sounds good isn’t?

Although summer is definitely turning into fall my nails look flirty and shiny in pink. The cocktail with white chocolate on top was simply irresistible. And the scones? They did come straight out of the oven and tasted so delicious that I wouldn’t mind to live on it! Give it a try during one of the Martini Manicure afternoon’s or at the Bo Cinq High Tea.

Most striking feature:

Everything is made by hand. The basil is coming right out their own garden, bread and cookies are baked in their own bakery. I love the atmosphere: it screams celebration, but in a very down to earth kind of way. Different chairs, a cool chandelier, an attractive (Rudolf Steiner School) kind of crowd. Not the ones with sandals and white stinky socks, but the more eco-conscious type. The Water Tower next to the restaurant, takes place as a hotel. And the perfect wedding location.

Unfortunately Lof der Zoetheid will close it’s doors for 1,5 month from February 21. I’ll keep you posted.

Most striking feature:

Make your own tea.  Just put some tea leaves in the empty bag and let it rise and shine in your tea-cup. Back to the basics, I love it. Don’t forget to order a cake with it!
