OPEN IN MAY: ENGELS ROTTERDAM

February 12, 2011

I just received a press release of Engels in my inbox. Engels is an ordinary grand café next to Rotterdam Central Station. I knew it had a rooftop terrace – with great views of the city – but I didn’t know they ‘greened’ it up. I can’t wait till the opening in May when I definitely go there for a cold drink or cocktail. And ofcourse I will keep you posted with a report. For now: sending you some spring vibes already!

LIKE TO HAVE: PANDA SHIRT from NÜMPH

November 8, 2010

Concept Green is a store in the Rechtstraat in Maastricht. Everything they sell has a positive message. Like using organic cotton or having a Fair Trade of Made-by label. I spotted this cute panda shirt from Nümph (29,95 euro). But they also sell Chino’s from the brand Circle of Trust. I like this store because it shows us that eco-fashion doesn’t mean that it’s expensive. Everything in here is affordable.

LIKE TO HAVE: STATIONARY of GREEN DEPOT NY

September 10, 2010

Green Depot is a department store. It sells everything: from baby clothing to light bulbs. But everything in here is ‘green’. Some stuff is locally produced, other stuff is recycled and another product is an energy saver. If you want to go green, it’s definitely worth the check out. Because everything is presented in an ultra chic way. I like this notebook which is made entirely from discarded paper. From 10 dollar (8 euro).

NEW SPOT: KAÁ RESTAURANTE SAO PAULO

July 19, 2010

3 reasons to dine here:

  1. It’s the winner of Wallpaper’s Design Awards 2010 in the category ‘best new restaurant’.
  2. If you’re a fan of the green movement: they used 7000 plants to create the huge green wall.
  3. If you like to find a hidden gem – taxi drivers can’t find it and you’re in once you open the massive door.
