TRIED & TESTED: CLOUD SEVEN CAFE PORTLAND

September 1, 2011

Most striking feature:

The Macbooks. It was like Cloud Seven Cafe was around the corner of an Apple store because everyone in here was working on their Macbook. It’s a good place to come alone, check your mail and get in touch with the local Macbook users (don’t even think of bringing your Windows laptop in here, because I think you will cause a stir). I’ve ordered a chicken salad on a Yam Bum and a coke. We’re in Portland so it’s not the normal Coke, but the green version of it. Without the sugar and produced in an honest way. I loved this place also because of their lamps.

TRIED & TESTED: NOURISH UTRECHT

April 8, 2011

Most striking feature:

It’s green in here. From the interior (look at the cute green feet of the chairs) till the kitchen. Expect raw food, freshly squeeuzed juices and even raw cake. They’re open from breakfast till dinner. You can choose for a raw, vegetarian, fish or meat dish. Next time when I go here for lunch I will definitely choose the Soul Burger (14,50 euro). In summer they’re gonna open a Salad Bar for take out. Perfect for a day in the park.

TRIED & TESTED: GEORGE DELI AMSTERDAM

November 28, 2010

Most striking feature:

The freshness of the ingredients. If you have one single doubt about honestly produced food, please go here. Order a club sandwich or a tomato soup and you will taste what it’s like to eat bio food. I can say it was my best club sandwich ever. And a tiny little extra: you can order a whole club sandwich or the half of it. Great option because who doesn’t think club sandwiches are usually to huge to digest? George Deli is situated above Marqt (the bio supermarket). So good to combine a shopping spree with a lunch.

LIKE TO HAVE: PANDA SHIRT from NÜMPH

November 8, 2010

Concept Green is a store in the Rechtstraat in Maastricht. Everything they sell has a positive message. Like using organic cotton or having a Fair Trade of Made-by label. I spotted this cute panda shirt from Nümph (29,95 euro). But they also sell Chino’s from the brand Circle of Trust. I like this store because it shows us that eco-fashion doesn’t mean that it’s expensive. Everything in here is affordable.
