When I visited Australia ten years ago I was definitely a Sydney fan. I lived in Bondi Beach, celebrated New Year’s Eve in some hot club near the harbour and loved the skyscrapers (yes, I’m a skyscraper girl otherwise I would be living in Amsterdam right now). Melbourne was more like Amsterdam I thought: with all the cozy terraces in St Kilda. But while I’m still making wishlists for both cities for my next trip Melbourne is quickly becoming full of cool hotspots. Hmm… what do you think? Which city in Australia is better?

Cushion from Make Me Iconic (also available: Melbourne is better than Sydney – just in case). Price: 62 euro.

1. Cushion from Tas-ka. Sold at Restored in Amsterdam or online: (75 euro).

2. Spotted in Dutch magazine Eigen Huis & Interieur: this beautiful wooden bag from Japanse firm Monacca (450 euro).

3. Who doesn’t like a map of the world to show where you’ve been? This one looks like an old antique poster, but if you scratch off the countries you’ve visited a colour pops up (18 euro from I want One of Those)

4. Funny Korean girl, but look at those shoes. Love it big time! Sold at Yubsshop for 21 euro.

5. Because you can’t teach your daughter fashion when she’s 16, you have to start early with this beautiful Hermès Coloring Book (101 euro at

6. Kitties for your keys (8 euro at Fred Flare)

What’s your favorite?

When I was in Barcelona in december I met a Korean girl. I told her about my fetish for diaries and she said: ‘you really have to go to Korea, because they are crazy about diaries.’ So I’ve ordered a planner online, but now I’ve found this website and I’m scrolling my way to heaven. It’s girly, girly gadget heaven. Take a look for yourself. I picked some things I would like to have. Like the pillow above. You can stuck your head in it. Great for 14-hour long flights.

So, what do you think? Is Korea your next holiday/shopping destination?

3 reasons to shop at Depot Rotterdam:

  1. This cushions from Ferm Living would just fit my couch in an extreme positive way.
  2. The collection is a mix of high end design (think: Moooi) and affordable stuff (think: this cushion aka 67 euro).
  3. Their window is an inspiration everytime I walk past.
