Most striking feature:

The freshness of the ingredients. If you have one single doubt about honestly produced food, please go here. Order a club sandwich or a tomato soup and you will taste what it’s like to eat bio food. I can say it was my best club sandwich ever. And a tiny little extra: you can order a whole club sandwich or the half of it. Great option because who doesn’t think club sandwiches are usually to huge to digest? George Deli is situated above Marqt (the bio supermarket). So good to combine a shopping spree with a lunch.

3 reasons to go there:

  1. To eat a clubsandwich or sip some wine and eat a oyster.
  2. If you’re wandering through the Utrechtsestraat and need a decent stop (because you really want to stay out of the ugly Rembrandtplein).
  3. If you like Café George in de Jordaan and George WPA in Oud-Zuid.

I’m very, very curious about the new George in eco supermarché Marqt – I mean: an ubercool café in a fashionable supermarket: if you don’t like buying your groceries on saturday, you do now. Cafe George is already a household name in Amsterdam. They opened their first café on the Leidsegracht and last year they touched down in posh Oud Zuid.

Watch their site – or mine – for the official opening date:
