LIKE TO HAVE: DRESS of STATE OF GEORGIA

June 15, 2010

UNFORTUNATELY THIS HOTSPOT HAS CLOSED IT’S DOORS

Most striking feature:

The perfect place to buy a cute dress for a huge party. The brand is from Australia, but has recently opened a shop in Seminyak. I’ve bought this dress for only 40 euro.

No website, only on Facebook, located on Jalan Laksmana

TRIED & TESTED: NAMMOS BALI

June 14, 2010

Most striking feature:

Your own private beach. Everyone who has been to Bali knows, once you roll out your towel on the beach, beach husselers approach you immediately. If you want a bracelet? Or a massage? Or maybe a sarong? Nammos is situated at the most southern point of Bali and the husselers aren’t aloud to come here. So you can enjoy the beachclub for yourself. The service is superb, just raise the flag next to your bed and they will come to help you. Another plus: the sand is white, the water clearblue. Not a frequently spotted thing on Bali.

TRIED & TESTED: YOGABARN BALI

June 14, 2010

Most striking feature:

The newly opened Kush: an ayurvedic beautycenter. Next to the rice fields lies the Yogabarn. A place where you can practice yoga. From Vinyasa to Hatha. And from Forrest Yoga to the cool named Tight White Guy Yoga – for beginners. Well I didn’t follow a yogalesson, but had a treatment in Kush. With an ayurvedic massage (1,5 hour), a facial (1 hour) and a treatment for my feet (30 minutes). What we paid? Only 35 euro. Go try it out by yourself.

TRIED & TESTED: KU DE TA BALI

June 10, 2010

Most striking feature:

Okay, Ku De Ta is widely known and I think that if you go in july and august that it’s full with tourists. I visited in the afternoon and found it a perfect place to unwind. Relaxing music, good food (check this delightful pizza) and the newly opened spa. They gave massages for 15 euro. Try to find a loungebed and order a Mojito Mocktail – a mojito without the alcohol but with pieces of apple. Nice! It’s not the cheapest place in Bali (pizza 12 euro, mocktail 6 euro).

TRIED & TESTED: THE ROCK BAR BALI

June 9, 2010

Most striking feature:

Uhm, the location. First you wander through a huge but chic hotel and it’s restaurants when you come to a point where a cable car is bringing you downstairs to the Rock Bar. Build on rocks, hanging somewhat over the sea so you see the waves breaking on the other rocks. Come here around 5 pm to catch the beautiful sunset. We’ve tried the Watermelon Martini because it was the cocktail that got you the most refreshing feeling – and we needed that with a temperature around 30 degress. Price of the cocktail: 7,5 euro.

BACK HOME – another stamp in my Petite Passport

June 8, 2010

Yes, I’m back home. And boy did I do some hotspotting overthere in Indonesia. The next couple of days I will publish the best places (read: the places you can’t miss during your trip) in Bali and Lombok. Ofcourse I’ve been to Ku De Ta (see picture). Here I’m covered in full Balinese souvenir clothing: those hats are widely available, just like the tye dye jumpsuit (together 10 euro).

Let me know what you think and what you wanna know about Bali…

ON THE ROAD: IN BALI & LOMBOK

May 16, 2010

Tomorrow I’m leaving to Bali and Lombok till the 8th of June. I’m going there for a holiday so I left my laptop at home but that doesn’t mean I’m not there to do some serious hotspotting. Some places on my itinerary are: the beautiful Qunci Villas in Lombok, Mu Bali, the Rock Bar, Dekuta, Anantara lounge, Cafe Bali and Klapa. I will report it all on this blog when I return. Oh I hate leaving you because I like giving you updates on the nicest places on earth, but hey, someone gotta do some testing as well 😉

Love, Pauline
